Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of heartbreak in the early years achieved wide recognition in the beginning of the 20th century. Swift's love for music started in the early years of her life. From musicals for kids to performing before thousands, Swift made rapid progress. When she was 11 years old, she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match and in the next year, she took up guitar and began writing songs. Drawing inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original music that was a reflection of her experience of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift's family moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania at the age of 13so she could spend more time pursuing popular country music labels in Nashville.
